What you do Tips and detail What happens
A. Pull handle down out of clip The magnetic clip is designed to release the handle downwards only, in order to reduce the chance of it being knocked out accidentally The handle is now free and in your hands to operate
B. Press and hold the red button Keeping your thumb on the red button primes the release mechanism. Nothing at this stage
C. Pull handle down until you hear a soft “click’ by your neck This is the sound and feel of the lock unit opening and releasing the cords. It requires a positive pull action; the heavier your bag, the firmer the pull required. The bag is now free to descend, and you will feel it pulling the handle backwards
D. Guide the handle back towards your neck and release it Once released, the handle must travel all the way back to the upper position to reset the lock. If not, the cords remain free and the bag cannot be locked back to the upper position. When the handle reaches the upper point by your neck the bag is fully released and descended.
E. Swing the pack around your body to do your stuff Use a wide orbit as you bring the bag around your body to avoid the cords catching on any stiff bits of clothing. You can now just access your stuff, or hook the bag to your front for longer periods.
F. Release the bag to swing back behind you You may need to unhook the bag from your front to do this With the bag behind you again it is ready to be raised and locked
G. Grab the handle from its upper position by your neck Do not press on the red button, otherwise you will re-release the lock and have to go through the cycle again. Nothing, until you start to pull
H. Pull the handle fully downwards until it stops. The direction of your pull can be forwards or downwards. If the bag is heavy, you may need to use 2 hands to pull. This is normal. The bag is raised back into its upper locked position behind you.
I. Place the handle near the magnetic clip on the strap to allow the magnet to suck it into position. Hovering the handle near the clip is easiest and sufficient. It clips in from ay direction. There is no need to carefully locate it in the clip. Let the magnet do its job for you! A very satisfying clunk! You can be on your way, until the next moment you quickly need your pack in front of you.
J. As an extra precaution, you can open the webbing loop and press stud and close it over the cords above the handle to make extra sure it stays in place


Safety is very important to us. We have done extensive testing on the product. A specialist safety organisation has advised us on product safety.

    While we assume users will act responsibly with the Wolffepack, we include here some more specific advice relating to the safe use of this product:

      • General Safety:
          • When attached to your back, the Wolffepack performs like any other backpack and so you must adhere to the same safety precautions you would exercise with a normal bag.
          • Don't overload the bag as this can cause back strain and injury.
          • Try to make sure that the shoulder straps are adjusted to the same length to avoid uneven load, which can lead to shoulder or neck injury.
          • Exercise care when storing a laden backpack to make sure it is secure, and not in a position where it may fall and injure someone. 
          • The Wolffepack is NOT a toy and should not be used by or left lying around children.

        • The Mechanism:
            • When travelling with the pack in the normal backpack position, use the safety clip on the bottom of the right shoulder strap to clip the handle to a secure position. This ensures that it does not swing unrestrained and create a hazard.
            • When stowing the Wolffepack, especially overhead, make sure to keep the handle clipped in with the safety clip to prevent the handle dropping loose and causing a hazard.
            • When raising the pack, ensure you pull the handle into a free space without hitting objects or people.
            • When releasing the pack, hold the handle until the pack has come to a rest. Do not allow the handle to fly back unrestrained.

          • The Cords: The Wolffepack contains dyneema cords, and as with any product containing cords, certain precautions should be taken to prevent harm. 
              • Always make sure that you are aware of where the bag and its cords are when it is detached from your back. Make sure the bag is free of any potential snags or catches when detached. Exercise extra caution around general machinery and moving objects such as automatic doors.
              • When releasing the pack into its lower position, ensure there are no objects or people immediately underneath the pack. 
              • Do not leave the Wolffepack out with the cords free, especially around children.
              • Do not swing the Wolffepack from side to side while it hangs free, so it rotates around your body.

            • Medical:
                • The Wolffepack contains Neodymium magnets which may interfere with pacemakers. If you have a pacemaker consult your doctor before using a Wolffepack.

            • The Wolffepack in Motion: The Wolffepack is not intended to be used (in release and raise modes) whilst the user is actually motion: when moving you should always have the bag clipped to your back or to your front.
                • Do not release the pack at all when in motion on a bike, motorbike or other wheeled vehicle.
                • It is advised not to release the pack when running.
                • Ensure the pack is fully raised when travelling, not partially raised.

              • Ski Lifts and Skiing: While the Wolffepack can be useful while skiing, certain precautions must be taken to ensure safe use, especially around ski lifts.
                  • As with all aspects of skiing, users must exercise great caution when getting on and off ski lifts. Make sure the Wolffepack is securely attached to your front before getting on a ski lift, and it is not freely hanging or held in one hand.
                  • When exiting a ski lift, it is very important you ski fully clear of the lift before allowing the Wolffepack to swing behind the body or bringing the Wolffepack back up on to your back.
